Warwick Street Green

This green plot of Council land at junction of Warwick Rd & Greengate Lane - local residents and community groups have come together to protect this green space - which was until recently up for sale by auction - thankfully the Council have agreed to cancel the sale - but it now in our hands to protect and enhance this land.

Phase 1 - Planting

On Saturday 17th September we held a Warwick Street Clean up day, in which we:

Cut and clear out the brambles next to the wall
Litter removal
Ready the foundations for planting beds

Phase 2 - Installation of community assets

This may include

Low maintenance planting
Raised flower beds
the installation of a bench with memorial plaque to help people to unwind and enjoy nature at this spot
New barrel bin
Bat / Bird boxes

Phase 3 - Ideas still in progress

We are looking for sustainable ideas that could be installed here such as:

Community artwork or sculpture
Notice / nature board
Community space

Cllr Sean Thorpe has confirmed that this land has been removed from the Accelerated Land Disposal Plan
