Prestwich Clough Wooden Sculptures
In early June 2023, using money from Parklife Grant 2022, we have installed two wooden (chain saw) sculptures - that of an owl and a squirrel at different locations in the Clough.
Furthermore Friends of Warwick Street Green have also installed a wooden fox sculpture as part of their community garden.
All three sculptures were commissioned from ‘Mike Burgess – Chain Saw Artist’ https://mbchainsaw-art.co.uk/ who is a local sculptor and has installations in other local Manchester parks and schools.
Crowdfunding
In early June we launched a Crowdfunding page to request donations to help pay for the professional installation of the 3 x sculptures. This was due to the fact that we did not receive the full Parklife Grant and due to the fact that rising costs meant the estimated price of the sculptures installation was more than original anticipated.
The Crowdfunding page - https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/sculptures4prestwich
We had a target of £350 but £360 was raised. The Crowdfunding Website charges fees so the overall amount actually received was £343.59.
Thank you to all who donated!
